• <br />• <br />City Council <br />February 10, 2003 <br />Vancil Vacation <br />City Engineer Jim Studenski has reviewed the site and is recommending vacation of the <br />area noted on the attached survey, based on the fact that elevations are above the 902 -foot <br />elevation threshold, and thus out of the 100 -year flood elevation, and that the vacation <br />has Rice Creek Watershed District approval. <br />CONCLUSION <br />Although it is unclear when and why the approved grading plan for the subject lot was <br />altered, what is clear is the fact that there are areas within the established easement area <br />that are above the 902 -foot elevation which defines the 100 -year flood plain elevation. <br />As a result, City staff is recommending the vacation of 295 sq.ft. portion of the easement <br />area, with the condition noted below, in order that Mr. Vancil may construct an addition <br />onto his home. Rice Creek Watershed has also reviewed and approved this vacation. <br />1.) All portions of the lot outside of the drainage and utility easement which are below <br />the 902 -foot threshold elevation must be filled so that an elevation at or above 902 is <br />achieved. <br />OPTIONS <br />1.) Approve the proposed Vacation. <br />2.) Deny the proposed Vacation. <br />3.) Return to staff with direction. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option #1 <br />
