Blair, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: May 12, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 03 -70 Authorizing Staff to issue <br />a Special Event Permit and a Cabaret License to <br />Miller's On Main for Street Dance, August 15 & 16, <br />2003 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Staff has received an application. from Miller's on Main to conduct a Street Dance on <br />August 15 & 16, 2003. This application includes requests for a Special Event Permit and <br />a Cabaret License. <br />The Council has previously received background information on this item and discussed <br />this matter during the April 23 and May 7, 2003 Council work sessions, as there is <br />currently no event of this type in the City. Staff presented a list of recommended <br />conditions the Council may wish to impose if approval of this event is granted. The <br />applicant has expressed a willingness to be bound by the conditions recommended by <br />Staff, and to include plan information pertaining to a checklist of items, and to work with <br />Staff to resolve an additional issues which may arise. <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 03 -70 (with Attachments A & B) granting <br />the Special Event Permit and the Cabaret License contingent upon successful completion <br />of the conditions and payment of a $150 application fee. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution 03 -70 Authorizing Staff to Issue a Special Event Permit and a <br />Cabaret License for Miller's on Main for a Street Dance, August 15 & 16, 2003. <br />2. Decline to Adopt Resolution 03 -70. <br />3. Return to staff for further review and/or action. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1. Option #1 <br />
