Metal Building Ordinance - discussion
Mr. Wessel indicated that the September 28th meeting of
the EDAB, he wanted to present the revision for review.
Mr. Wessel indicated since it is necessary to have a
public hearing for an ordinance change he is requesting
that this revision be acted upon by the Planning &
Zoning at the November 8th meeting.
Mr. Wessel indicated the revision for commercial/
industrial projects included to following:
a. Only conventional foundations and structural
systems will be allowed (a technical definition of
the above would be included.)
b. Exterior wall surfaces may be a combination of
materials including brick, cast -in -place concrete,
stone or glass, with metal panels encompassing no
more than 60% of all elevations of the building
combined.
c. On the building elevations facing the front of
the lot or that portion of the building abutting a
right of way. Metal panels will not exceed 20% of
the wall surface.
Mr. Wessel noted that EDAB is aware that the planning
department is reviewing the complete zoning ordinance
with an estimated target date in early 1996.
Unfortunately, economic development priorities are such
that they have to act more quickly.
