•
•
PLANNING & ZONING BOARD
OCTOBER 11, 1995
Mr. Brixius indicated he felt EDAB was taking the right
process. He suggested establishing qualifications for
each commercial and industrial district, rather than
combining both.
Mr. Brixius felt the percentages were excellent
suggestions. He noted the dents and corrosion would be
easily incorporated in the definition of acceptable
materials.
Mr. Brixius indicated his position would be that
revising the ordinance to include more contemporary
buildings will expand economic development in Lino
Lakes.
Mr. Gelbmann suggested limited elevations where metal
could be placed.
Mr. Schones indicated he felt percentages may not be
necessary.
Chair Schaps expressed concern for maintaining
continuity in the Apollo Park. He noted diversity may
not be bad, but it may not rent.
Mr. Brixius noted in regard to percentages, it will help
establish a criteria for the City. He noted a business
may believe the proposed structure is aesthetically
pleasing, but the Board does not, they would have the
percentages to work from as a basis.
Brief discussion was held on the allowable metal
buildings in other communities.
Mr. Robinson encouraged the moving forward of a revised
ordinance, he felt the old ordinance has turned away
economic development in the City.
VII . ADJOURNMENT: Al Robinson made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting
at 8:15 p.m. and was supported by Bill Johnson. All
voted in favor. Motion carried.
