Page Five PLANNING & ZONING BOARD
September 10, 1986
410 OLD BUSINESS
Status of Rice Lake Estates - In answer to questions as to the status
of the Rice Lake Estates "manufactured homes" issue, Mr. Schumacher
reported that the staff is putting together an amendment allowing in
the R -7 zone as a conditional use "panelized, state - approved" manu-
factured homes. This amendment is planned to go before the P & Z
Board at their next meeting.
•
•
Status of Building Standards - Mr. Doocy asked that the Boardmembers
be prepared for the next P & Z meeting to discuss criteria for pole
buildings including landscaping, berming, etc. as has been discussed
recently.
NEW BUSINESS
General Fund Budget - The Board received a memo from the staff accountant
asking for input for the general fund budget. Mr. Schumacher said that
Rice Creek Watershed District has a storm water management plan to which
the City can link a City plan. Because of the importance of this issue
and the fact that it will be so costly and a lengthy task to put together,
that this item will be raised as a separate issue from the P & Z or
Comp Plan Review budgets.
The Board discussed what items they would like to work on under the
1987 budget. Those items were earth sheltered homes, antennaes and
solar access. Mr. Doocy and Mr. Wuornos will discuss these items and
present a figure to Mr. Schumacher by the end of September, 1986.
The Board unanimously agreed to continue the meeting past 10:00 P.M.
Comp Plan Review Meeting - The Comp Plan ReviewTask Force will begin
meeting again the third Wednesday in October, 1986. Mr. Wuornos said
that his office is prepared for that meeting. Mr. McLean asked that
the City have either Mr. Wuornos or Mr. Johnson (not both) promise to
complete the task force review with the City. Mr. McLean felt that
one planner's involvement from here through completion would help the
group keep within their schedule and budget constraints. Mr. Wuornos
promised that he would personally complete the task force review.
The meeting adjourned at 10:10 P.M.
