88 <br />Planning and Zoning Board <br />December 12, 1984 <br />Page Four <br />GROUP W CABLE - METES AND BOUNDS CONVEYANCE <br />Jim Szurek represented Group W and introduced Mary Jane Thompson, <br />who is replacing Steve Nierengarten of Group W. Mr. Szurek, showed <br />proof of Mr. McDonald's signature as seller of the parcel of land <br />Group W has contacted to purchase. Mr. Szurek also referred to a tine <br />"triangle" of land, which if purchased would satisfy the requirement <br />of frontage. He said that the land belongs to a trust and he had <br />spoken to the trustees and had negotiated and agreed upon a price for <br />the land and that he could purchase that tiny triangle_ piece imme- <br />diately. <br />Mr. McLean told Mr. Szurek that the triangle would be necessary to <br />satisfy the frontage requirement, and that a public hearing and <br />notification of the neighboring residents would also take place be- <br />fore final approval. <br />Mr. Szurek explained that with regard to screening, the area is very <br />heavily wooded which would create a natural screen, and the building <br />proposed is a 30' X 25' building, and that the area would be fenced. <br />Mr. Prokop moved to recommend to Council approval of the application <br />by Group W Cable, 737 E. River Road, Anoka, MN and Leslie McDonald <br />as owner, dated December 7, 1984 for metes and bounds subdivision <br />for ten acre parcel as described in application and also a triangula <br />piece of land (which is required to satisfy frontage requirements) <br />be included within the application. Approval is recommended subject <br />to Group W showing evidence of obtaining ownership. Motion seconded <br />by Mr. Goldade. Carried. <br />Mrs. Klaus moved to recommend to Council approval of theCUP application <br />by Group W Cable, 737 E. River Road, Anoka, MN and Leslie McDonald <br />as owner, dated December 7, 1984, to construct one 150 foot antenna <br />and two satellite dishes and one block building for cable TV trans - <br />mission•purposes. The approval would be limited to a 30' X 25' <br />block building, a 15' wide roadway with a small (2 -3 car) parking <br />lot, antenna and dishes enclosed with a 6' chain link fence. This <br />approval is contingent upon approval of the metes and bounds convey- <br />ance application. Motion seconded by Mr. Ostlie. Carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Klaus noted that the House of Praise has still not begun their <br />construction which was - presented as a situtation which needed to be <br />done immediately. <br />Mr. Goldade and Mrs. Klaus reported on their attendance at the Annual <br />Planning Seminar. Some of the items discussed included soil erosion <br />as the number one pollutant, handicapped people being allowed to liv <br />together in single family residences, and a checklist to be used by <br />Board members in decision - making. The checklist will be copied and <br />sent to members. <br />Mr. McLean thanked the group as Chairman, for their effort .and dedi- <br />
