Each board -
member present ranked the candidates (Mrs. Klaus abstained). The
opinions were in unanimous agreement, and the Board felt that they
had seen a good scope of candidates and did not feel any more inter-
views were necessary.
Mr. McLean moved to recommend to Council, based upon the joint assess-
ment of the candidates by the P & Z Board, that Mr. Chapman remain the
City Planning Consultant. Motion seconded by Goldade. Motion unani-
mously carried.
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
Mr. Schumacher addressed a letter to the attention of the P & Z Board
and the City Council suggesting those boards go through the normal
approval process for the republished 1981 Comp Plan which includes
some changes, none of which affect Metropolitan Council. This letter
spelled out generally what changes were included at the suggestion
of the former City Planner, Bill Short.
The Board was not satisfied with the detail of the changes which have
been included in the republished Comp Plan. Mr. McLean suggested
that a "to- from" list be developed for the purpose of clarification.
Mr. Goldade moved to direct Mr. Kluegel to plan a meeting of the
P & Z Board, City Council, Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Chapman to make
sure all understand the changes which have taken place. Mr. Prokop
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
GARY MOREHOUSE - METES AND BOUNDS CONVEYANCE
Arlo and Lucille Morehouse represented Gary Morehouse in his request
for a metes and bounds subdivision of five acres in an ER district.
After some discussion and clarification of the location in question,
Mr. Cody moved to recommend that Council approve Mr. Morehouse' re-
quest for a metes and bounds subdivision, Mr. Morehouse currently
residing at 660 79th St., for a split of his property located
at 680 79th St. in which a parcel of 330 feet by 660 feet (constitu-
ting five acres) be subdivided. Mr. Goldade seconded the motion.
Mr. Cody amended his motion to include the fact that the property
to be subdivided does lie adjacent to a city accepted and dedicated
roadway (namely 79th St.), a fact which is not noted either on the
certificate of survey accompanying the request or on the city aerial
map. Motion passed.
Mrs. Morehouse was upset by the fact that the city map does not
show 79th St., a street which has been there for 20 years, and
because of that fact, the Morehouse certificate of survey did not
show the street. She felt the City should see to it that their
maps were updated.
