Planning and Zoning
September 12, 1984
Page Four
•Mr. Ostlie questioned whether the site and building plan complied with
all specifications as outlined on page 40 of the City Ordinance. Mr.
Kluegel said that it did comply.
•
It was understood that Bastien Products also is known by the name FRDY
Partnership.
Mr. Ostlie moved to recommend to Council that FRDY Partnership be granted
their request for approval of site and building plan review and metes and
bounds conveyance, providing there be a 10' X 20' covered attached drive-
way /walkway connecting existing building and proposed building, and to
include fencing to match the existing fencing, due south from where fence
presently stops, then westward to the stucco garage. Motion seconded by
Mr. Prokop, motion carried.
Mr. Kluegel was asked by the Board to check into "park dedication" in
this case. He agreed to check it out, he had never dealt with this in
a commercial area. Mr. Goldade asked that Mr. Kluegel deal with signage
for directions to semi drivers to eliminate backing into either Aqua Lane
or Lake Drive. Mr. Kluegel said he would see that appropriate signage go
into place.
Bastien Products representatives were informed that their request would
be considered by City Council, with P & Z recommendations, at their
September 24 meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Kluegel reported that the Park Board discussed the LaMotte Park vaca-
tion issue at their September 10 meeting and decided to request a joint
meeting with the Planning and Zoning Board to try to come up with a deci-
sion regarding LaMotte Park. Mr. McLean asked that this issue be placed
on the Planning and Zoning Board's agenda for October (at beginning of the
meeting) and that Mr. Kluegel inform those interested Park Board members
and concerned citizens. •
Mrs. Klaus asked if anyone knew why the Council did not include lighting
requirements when approving the transmission tower amendment at their
July 23 Council meeting. The Council minutes noted that there was dis-
cussion regarding lighting, but no requirements were added to the amendment,
and she felt that this is something that the P & Z may have overlooked and
possibly should have been added.
Mr. McLean informed Mr. Kluegel that he has seen a semi parked along Ash
St. recently. Mr. Ostlie reported seeing a semi on a private drive on
Lake Drive. Mr. Kluegel agreed to check these areas.
Mr. Prokop questioned the width of the roads being constructed in the West
Oaks area and wanted Mr. Davidson to be reminded that as engineer, he is
not to approve any widths other than those called for by ordinance. Mr.
Kluegel agreed to inquire and make sure road widths are per ordinance.
Mr. Prokop also asked why it was necessary to cut so far back into the
Evans property in the Reiling Road project. He asked for an answer from
John Davidson.
