Planning and Zoning Board <br />• pebruary 18, 1981 <br />Pave Two <br />plan dated Feb, 3, 1981 and that consider Lots 12,13,& 14 at a later <br />date. Seconded by Mr. Prokop. Correction on the lot numbers would be <br />1 through 10, Block 1, and 1 through 11, Block 2 for the LI. Seconded <br />by Mr. Prokop. Motion carried. <br />The next item on the agenda was a variance request for Northwestern <br />Bell Telephone for the purchase of a small parcel of land for the <br />construction of a building for the housing of cables. Mr. Dokken repre- <br />sented Northwestern Bell and explained this will be a building 17'x18' <br />and will used for equipment storage only. The land is located on Birch <br />Street, approximately 300' West of Centerville Road. There were questions <br />on the use of the building, will there be fencing, etc. with Mr, Dokken <br />supplying the answers. <br />Mr. Johnson moved to recommend approval of this variance request. <br />Seconded by Mr. Prokop. Motion carried. <br />The next item on the agenda was a variance request by Mr. Edward Ostrom. <br />This request is for the placement of a garage nearer the street than the <br />home and is an after the fact request in that the garage has already <br />been constructed. Mrs. Ostrom explained why the building is where it is. <br />41, <br />A letter from Mr. Short had been received this evening and the members <br />ook time to read Mr. Short's comments. <br />Mr. Johnson moved to table this request to give the City Council time to <br />change the language in Ord. #56, Section 4.05 (I). Seconded by Mr. Prokop. <br />Mr. Schumacher said the first question the Council will ask is does the <br />Planning Commission agree with this amendment. Mr. Johnson said this <br />is part of his motion. <br />After some discussion of this matter, Mr. Bathke said he would prefer to <br />leave the Ordinance as is and deal with this problem on an individual <br />basis. <br />Die <br />The motion carried with Mr.B - -L11 e voting, No. <br />The next item on the agenda was a variance presented by the VFW for the <br />transfer of a triangular parcel of land from the parcel to the North of <br />the building. The existing fence is located on the North line of the <br />proposed parcel the variance is being considered. There was discussion <br />on the location of the fence, the septic system and the side lot line in <br />conjunction with the existing home on the North parcel. <br />Mr. Prokop moved to recommend approval of this variance with the provision <br />that the proposed new lot line with be at least 10' from the existing <br />•home. Seconded by Mr. Doocy. Motion carried. <br />The next item on the agenda was a rezone request by Mr. Augustine. This <br />for a parcel of land located on the service road East of 135E and is for <br />the purpose of constructing a dome building to house the manufacturing <br />of dome home precut kits. <br />
