OVERVIEW Dear Clearwater Creek Park Neighbor. The city recently obtained 5.5 acres of parkland •in the Clearwater Creek 3rd Addition. The future park is located at the southeast comer of Clearwater Creek Drive and Tart Lake Road. Based on two planning meetings, a final master plan has been developed by Jeff Schoenbauer, from Brauer and Associates. In order to move forward with this plan we need your support either in the form of a petition signature and /or your presence at the City Council Meeting on February 12th. era Annul Ite:Or Open Creed space: .(Yl' NtN41c41 13,0161 150`s;9t1'ivn6Utr41 CvorrlSLt4gin11inu, ( 1 ■4 h•l}p $125,000 OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT The City Council has authorized staff to submit a $125,000 Outdoor Recreation Grant for development of Clearwater Creek Park. The grant program is facilitated through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and is very competitive program with hundreds of applications submitted annually. However with your help, we are optimistic that the application will have a good chance of success. PUBLIC HEARING FEBRUARY 12TH, 2001 6:30PM A public hearing is required to allow residents the opportunity to provide input and comment on the proposed Outdoor Recreation Grant Application. The public hearing will be held Monday, February 12, 2001, 6:30pm at the City Council meeting and will be the first agenda item. Therefore, it is important that residents in the Clearwater Creek Development attend the public hearing and express support for the Outdoor Recreation Grant Application. PETITION FOR THE OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT A petition supporting the Outdoor Recreation Grant will be circulating in the Clearwater Creek Neighborhood before the February 12th meeting. Please show your support by signing the petition and also showing your support by attending the 6:30pm February 12th City Council meeting. A copy of the petition and the amount of people at the Feb. 12th meeting will be attached to the grant application. PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION Another way to indicate support from area residents is to assist the Parks Department with the installation of the playground equipment. This has worked out very well with other neighborhood playground projects. Since we aren't paying the playground equipment supplier to install the equipment, we are able to purchase 25% more equipment with the budgeted amount of money. A letter of commitment will also be circulating before the February 12th meeting to show the commitment of area residents to install the playground equipment.
