• <br />Park Board Meeting - January 4, 2001 <br />Minutes <br />The January 4, 2001 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br />called to order at 6:30pm, by Chair Lindy. <br />Roll call was taken, members present were Pam Taschuk, Paul <br />Montain, George Lindy, Chris Welsand, Bill Kusterman, Michael <br />O'Connor, and Pat Huelman. No members were absent. <br />Also present were Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director, <br />Sandie Wood, Office Manager. <br />APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 4, 2000 MINUTES: <br />Pam Taschuk made a motion, seconded by Pat Huelman, to approve <br />the December 4, 2000 minutes. The minutes were approved. <br />SETTING THE AGENDA: <br />The Agenda was passed as presented. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />Mr. Kirk Corson, 6662 Ruffed Grouse Roa , me forward and gave <br />the background regarding the Quail Ripe velopment noting there <br />are approximately two acres availab a'r park land. He stated <br />that part of the park dedication uded a bridge over the <br />wetlands. The DNR was very rest e regarding damage to the <br />wetlands from a bridge. There - = dock structure was <br />installed. After six years, t tructure was removed due to <br />damage. <br />Mr. Corson appealed to the 4 :'ard to do something for this <br />neighborhood. He stated at the very least he would like to <br />see access to other ar_ He stated the residents in this <br />area are locked in. ic:ted he would also like to see some <br />sort of play structure in the park area. The neighborhood needs <br />a way to gain access ou of the area and clear the existing park <br />land for kids to play. <br />Chair Lindy'asked if Mr. Corson would be agreeable to having a <br />trail along Birch Street. <br />Mr. Corson stated a trail along Birch Street would be a good <br />option. A bridge over the wetlands would be very expensive. <br />Even a gravel trail to start would be a great improvement. He <br />stated he does not believe that a culvert would be necessary if a <br />trail is installed. <br />Mr. Tom Pawlak, 6618 Ruffed Grouse Road, came forward and read a <br />letter he and his wife wrote. The letter urged the Park Board to <br />complete the Quail Ridge Park this year. The letter outlined <br />reasons why the park should be developed that included safety <br />1 <br />
