Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439
•
•
Date: 3/13/02
To: Park Board Members
From: Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor
Subject: Warming House Season Report
With the warmest winter on record, our season was short and not too sweet. I have enclosed
shelter attendance reports with this information. Also I have listed some points of interest.
Points of Interest:
• The season opened ten days later the last year.
• The shelters closed twelve days earlier then last year.
■ Attendance at all parks was down considerably
• Daily average attendance at a couple of parks went up.
• During this season, there were periods that the shelters were closed for almost a week due
to the warm weather.
• The staff that was hired to supervise the shelters was the best in recent memory.
■ Of the 39 days we were opened, we closed early on several days due to the ice conditions.
• By far, a very difficult season for maintenance, warming house employees and visitors!
LINO LAKES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
"We are working hard, so you can play"
