• <br />• <br />• <br />Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 <br />March 25, 2003 <br />TO: Park Board Members <br />FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor <br />SUBJECT: March 2003 Park Maintenance Update <br />Maintenance activity during March has included: <br />♦ Removed and stored hockey goals and benches from all rinks. <br />♦ Warming house maintenance - Removed rubber flooring, emptied trash, cleaned floors and <br />bathrooms. <br />♦ Sunrise Park shelter — Painted floors and walls. <br />♦ Fabricated and painted racking for Marshan Park building. <br />♦ Fabricated ball and stick bins for storage at Marshan Park. <br />♦ Attended MTI University — Irrigation, turf establishment and maintenance, and sports turf. <br />♦ Prepped wood duck houses. <br />♦ Monitored Rice Lake Elementary tunnel. <br />Sanded as needed when icy. <br />Built 2x12 plank bridge when water backed up into tunnel (frozen culvert to north, water 5" <br />deep in tunnel). <br />♦ Pumped Rice Lake Elementary holding pond, unplugged frozen culvert. <br />♦ Delivered shelving and storage bins to Marshan Park building. <br />♦ Assisted Streets Department with snowplowing and water pumping. <br />♦ Assisted Environmental Coordinator with removal of high risk Oak Wilt trees. <br />♦ Met with Rehbein and Northway Irrigation regarding park development at Clearwater Creek <br />and Highland Meadows Parks. <br />♦ Attended shade tree short course. <br />♦ Opened skate park — removed fencing and garbage pickup. <br />♦ Opened Arena Acres tennis courts. <br />♦ Offered contracts to returning seasonal staff. <br />♦ Picked up new Toro Proline mower. <br />That is it for March, much more to come in April. <br />sw /parkbrd/mike hoffman/March 2003 Update.doc <br />
