Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department 600 Town Center Parkway Lino Lakes, MN 55014 (651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 www.ci.lino - lakes.mn.us July 29, 2003 TO: Park Board Members FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor SUBJECT: July Maintenance Update Maintenance activities during July have included: ❑ Weekly garbage collection. ❑ Weekly park mowing. ❑ Irrigation system maintenance and trouble shooting. ❑ Equipment maintenance. ❑ Daily athletic field preparation — most summer programs have ended. We are now gearing up for fall softball, soccer and football. ❑ Warning track renovation — Sunrise #1 and #2. ❑ Trail side trimming — As the trail system continues to grow so do the number of hours required to inspect and maintain them. ❑ Party Wagon pickup and delivery for 5 dates. ❑ Pheasant Hills Park — Installed 40' of 6' high chain link fencing behind basketball 1/2 court to keep balls from entering wooded area. ❑ Highland Meadows Park Sod installed along boulevard and playground areas (contracted). Replacement trees planted (contracted). Trail damage repaired (contracted). Washed out prairie areas — reseeded (staff). Site furnishings installed (benches, tables) (staff). Replaced damaged spring toy horse. We have decided to reseed all turf - seeded areas. The storm of June 24th caused extensive erosion, which impacted the quality of the project. In the next 2 weeks we will total kill the turf - seeded areas, till and regrade, adjust depth of sprinkler heads, final grade and reseed. If all goes well we should have a good stand of turf by October 1St ❑ Clearwater Creek Park Seeded bare soil areas to Ann. Rye (staff). Installed site furnishings (tables and benches) (staff). Installed basketball goal and post. Painted court (contracted). Soon we will total kill this site, final grade, seed bed prep. and seed this park. We hope to have seeding completed by August 15 — 20.
