Irrigated athletic fields are being cut twice weekly.
• Athletic field preparation for fall softball, football, and soccer. Thankfully fall softball
ended in early September, but soccer and football fields continue to keep us busy. Twice
weekly mowing, weekly line mow -ins, re- painting every 2 -3 weeks, and net and goal
maintenance as needed.
• Trail inspection — A number of areas have been identified for repair before winter arrival.
• Trail trimming — The majority of the system has been trimmed for side and overhead
clearance. A handful of areas where trees or shrubs on private property are encroaching
the trail need to be addressed with the property owners.
• Fertilized approximately 40 acres of athletic fields and irrigated turf.
• Irrigation system maintenance.
• Installed two park benches with concrete pads on Timberwolf Trail.
• Assembled eight new picnic tables to be placed in parks.
• Playground inspections and repairs.
• Mulched park trees at Country Lakes and Rice Lake Elementary School.
• Highland Meadows Park
- Total killed turf seeded areas in early August.
Harley raked, regarded and seeded during week of August 18.
- Sodded around all irrigation heads and valve boxes.
Fertilized on August 27 and again on September 18.
Adjusted irrigation heads to provide adequate coverage.
Things are looking good and I would expect to cut this area during the week of
September 29. If the weather cooperates I would expect to have a pretty good
stand of turf before the snow flies.
