Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439
May 31, 2000
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director
SUBJECT: Review Park Shelter and Field Permit Application Form
Enclosed is the revised application form to reserve park shelters and athletic fields. Open -air
shelters are available for rent at Lino Park and Sunrise Park. There is no charge for residents.
However, there is a $25 fee for non - residents.
Athletic fields are available to be reserved for groups that consist of at least 50 percent of Lino
Lakes residents, businesses, churches, and schools within Lino Lakes, and Lino Lakes non - profit
and civic organizations. The proposed rates are:
Softball/baseball — drag only $20 per evening
Softball/baseball — drag and chalk $30 per evening
Soccer $65 per evening
Reservations are made on an availability basis. The rationale for the soccer fee is two fold.
First, our fields are used very heavily by youth soccer groups. Adult Soccer games would have a
detrimental effect on these heavily used fields. Second, this encourages teams to reserve fields at
the National Sports Center, which can accommodate high impact use.
RD:sw
sw /parkbrd/Review Park Shelter and Field Permit Application Form.doc
•
