C 1 TYw `;;, <0 F
LLNOL KES
Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439
March 29, 2000
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director
SUBJECT: Request to Assist with Trail Buffering, 307 Linda Lane
Mrs. Rodriguez is in the process of installing cedar privacy fencing to create a buffer between
her residence and the existing trail which was installed last year. Attached is a survey indicating
the location of the existing home and the existing trail easement. A recent site visit indicates the
paved trail is located within 9 feet of the northwest corner of the home.
Mrs. Rodriguez is planning on putting a six foot high cedar privacy fence, 89 feet in length.
Three estimates were received. Empire Fence from Maple Grove was the lowest bidder at a total
cost of $1,869.
Mrs. Rodriguez is requesting that the city assist with this project since the public trail is in such
close proximity to their home. A similar situation occurred last year in the Clearwater Creek
Development which resulted in assisting homeowners with buffering of $400 each. Staff feels
that this is a reasonable request and recommends designating $400 of Park Dedication Funds to
assist Mrs. Rodriguez.
RD:sw
sw /parkbrd/Request to Assist with Trail Buffering, 307 Linda Lane.doc
