Training sessions attended by maintenance personnel included the following: • Pesticide Re- certification Training • MTI University (Toro U). Training sessions on irrigation design, installation and trouble shooting, turf grass management, athletic field maintenance, tree selection and maintenance. • Sexual Harassment training. • Hazard Tree Workshop. • Shade Tree Short Course (tree inspector re- certification). Attending these conferences and workshops, in some cases, is required for license renewal and also allows us to network with other parks maintenance professionals to keep current in parks maintenance equipment and products. Maintenance activities during March: • Bleacher assembly (10 sets of 5 row 15') • Bleacher pad cutout and forming for concrete. • Hiring of seasonal staff. • Purchase of Harley Rake and Toro Pro -Line Mower. • Equipment maintenance and changeover. • Trimming boulevard trees. • Picked up 55 gallon drums. Will make into garbage cans for parks. • Inventoried all ballfields to determine maintenance needs prior to season. March has been very busy and April looks to be even busier. Major projects for April include: • Nine concrete bleacher pads (4 Sunrise, 3 Rice Lake Elem., 2 Centennial Middle School.) • Delivering and anchoring bleachers to pads. • Install two scoreboards (Sunrise Park). • Ballfield work — prepping fields for upcoming season. sw /prkbrd/Mike Hoffman Maintenance Updates/March 00 Update.doc
