Staff advised the street
was shown to give an idea where the street could continue to. The City has no intention
of condemning property to put a street through.
Mr. Johnson asked about the street going northeast in Highland Meadows. Staff
indicated that street may not be part of the plat. Revisions are being made to Highland
Meadows. A connection is needed from Highland Meadows to Main Street.
Mr. Dunn stated the plan is too premature to take action. He stated he wants a better
understanding of the traffic patterns out of both subdivisions and on Main Street. He
stated the City should develop a way to curtail vehicles cutting through residential areas.
Mr. Bill Frogner, 475 Lois Lane, stated he has lived on his property for 20 years. He
stated there is a culvert under Main Street that has no outlet. He asked how the City plans
to handle the excess water.
Chair Schaps advised the drainage plan has not been = ressed.
Mr. Tim Anderson, 547 Lois Lane, came
the open space. He suggested the MUSA boundary be expanded.
Ms. Debbie Waldock, 559 Lois Lane, distributed a petition signed by residents that are
against the proposed development. She asked that the City protect them from the builder
land locking their property. It was indicated that eventually a road would come in behind
these lots and residents would be able to subdivide their property. All property owners
were told that the development was designed to construct a road behind their homes.
The petition was officially entered into the record.
Mr. Daryl Cooper, 8125 Wood Duck Trail, stated the road cannot handle the number of
families proposed in the development. The City sewer will affect all property values. He
stated he is not against higher density but against the traffic problems that will occur from
higher density. He suggested 1.5 acre lots. He stated that land locking is also a big issue.
He added that not all residents in the area were notified of the neighborhood meeting.
