Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department 600 Town Center Parkway Lino Lakes, MN 55014 (651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 November 29, 1999 TO: Park Board Members FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor SUBJECT: November Park Maintenance Update Projects receiving attention during November included the following: ♦ Irrigation Systems Winterized - Sunrise, Birch, City Hall and Rice Lake Estates Parks as well as Town Center, Fire Hall and city well houses have all been blown out. In addition Rice Lake Elementary and Centennial Middle School have been completed. ♦ A block retaining wall and cedar privacy fence was installed along the north side of the Sunrise Park Lift Station. This was done to abate a noise complaint from a resident to the north. ♦ Behm's Park — The playground, kid timber border and resilient surface has been installed. A temporary pleasure skating rink has been installed near the park entrance along Mustang Lane. ♦ Hockey and pleasure skating rinks have been re- leveled and are ready for flooding. ♦ Ballfields — All ag -lime fields and warning tracks were shallow tilled (2 " -3 ") to relieve compaction and bring more coarse material to the surface. In addition, Sunrise Fields #1 and #2 received approximately 100 tons of ag -lime each to help renovate the infields and warning tracks. ♦ A 30' length of split rail fence was installed along the edge of the trail at 701 Country Lakes Drive. This was done at the request of the homeowner to keep trail users from cutting across his property. ♦ Quail Ridge Boardwalk — At the time of this writing approximately 3/4 of the boardwalk decking has been removed. We hope to remove the remainder of the decking and the galvanized framework by December 1. ♦ Shenandoah Park Backstop — The remainder of the backstop has been removed. Those are the main highlights for November. Now if the weather ever cooperates, we can begin flooding our rinks. sw /mike/November Park Maintenance Update.doc
