• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 10, 1997 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE November 10, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED 5:30 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED 6:25 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Council Member Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden <br />and Neal and Mayor Landers <br />Staff members present: Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; Chief of <br />Police, David Pecchia and Clerk- Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />STATUS REPORT ON CIVIC BUILDING PLANS FOR THE VILLAGE, RANDY <br />SCHUMACHER <br />Staff displayed a concept plan for the civic center buildings and explained the need to <br />build all three (3) buildings at one time The civic complex would cr , :� ,'� entity in the <br />Village and possibly attract other businesses. <br />The Police Department building is needed because th .0 r +t d' i inadequate. This building ed for expansion after the year 2010 if needed. <br />The City Hall is <br />use the current building is crowded and is presenting some <br />physical problem so, e of the staff. <br />The architects have determined the following space is needed: <br />City Hall 17,000 <br />Police Department 17,000 <br />Early Childhood Center 12,000 <br />The current budget is $5,800,000.00. This would adequately fund the three (3) buildings <br />if they are constructed at the same time. The original campus of buildings concept is <br />based on the idea that some components such as heating would be shared. If these items <br />are not shared, the project is not affordable. The proposal is to build a civic campus which <br />is connected but maintains individual identities. <br />
