• CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 19, 1999 DISCUSS DESIGNATION OF EXCESS 1998 REVENUE, LINDA WAITE SMITH Staff distributed a memo regarding the revised excess revenue requests from staff. The amount of the excess revenue has been decreased due to a $100,000 commitment made to reforestation and the purchase of an emergency generator for the new Civic Center. Staff also distributed and reviewed an explanation of expenses due to the storms last year and FEMA reimbursement. Mayor Sullivan advised no formal action committing to the generator was made. However, commitments have been made to residents regarding the excess revenue. The emergency generator was an expenditure that was not approved. Mayor Sullivan expressed concern regarding a mistake of this magnitude. It was noted that any action taken would be the decision of Ms. Waite Smith. A closed meeting regarding this matter is not needed at this time. The allocations are also based on the agreement that the Mallard Lane Trail connection will receive the rest of its funding next year.
