• <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 19, 1999 <br />DISCUSS DESIGNATION OF EXCESS 1998 REVENUE, LINDA WAITE SMITH <br />Staff distributed a memo regarding the revised excess revenue requests from staff. The <br />amount of the excess revenue has been decreased due to a $100,000 commitment made to <br />reforestation and the purchase of an emergency generator for the new Civic Center. <br />Staff also distributed and reviewed an explanation of expenses due to the storms last year <br />and FEMA reimbursement. <br />Mayor Sullivan advised no formal action committing to the generator was made. <br />However, commitments have been made to residents regarding the excess revenue. The <br />emergency generator was an expenditure that was not approved. <br />Mayor Sullivan expressed concern regarding a mistake of this magnitude. It was noted <br />that any action taken would be the decision of Ms. Waite Smith. A closed meeting <br />regarding this matter is not needed at this time. <br />After considerable discussion, Council decided the excess revenue <br />follows: <br />Civic Center Construction <br />30,000 <br />�. 1 0 <br />..,...�.. �...., <br />III <br />Technology for City Hall $ 51,000 <br />Voting Machines $ 24,000 <br />Bleacher Replace - t $ 25,000 <br />Mallard Lane T , ion - ity share; <br />Assumes ,01 ° ' e : _ t $ 28,000 <br />Old City ements $ 10,000 <br />Wenzel F Clearing $ 5,000 <br />The allocations are based on Council agreement that 50% of all new gas franchise fees <br />are committed to a Road Reconstruction Fund.
