• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 22, 1997 <br />Staff is requesting that billings be staggered each month so that the entire 2100 accounts <br />are not billed at the same time. Staff explained how this change would be implemented <br />and noted that the transition would take two (2) months to complete. <br />The City Code will not be amended since each account still is billed quarterly as required <br />by the Code. <br />Council gave verbal approval for this change and directed staff to give affected residents <br />written notice of the change as well as placing a notice in the quarterly City newsletter. <br />DISCUSS PURCHASE OF WATER METERS, DAVID AHRENS <br />Several weeks ago, Council adopted a motion to require that all new water meters be the <br />type that allows for telephone reading of the meters. At that time, staff discussed the need <br />to change the old style meters to the new style meters. <br />Staff is now requesting approval of changing the old water meters section by section of <br />the City. The map indicate <br />eparation of Plans and <br />e - Mr. Ahrens displayed a map of the <br />ill be placed. <br />Council directed f to not s of this project to residents along Vicky Lane, Nancy <br />Drive and other � s tline the petition process so that they may request utility <br />services in their n oods. <br />Resolution No. 97 - 152, Opting to Participate in Livable Communities - Staff <br />explained that Metropolitan Council has not yet looked at the latest City proposed goals. <br />Resolution Clarifying City Council Intent of the Road Reconstruction Referendum - <br />Staff will be adding this resolution to the October 27th agenda. <br />Resolution to Remove Chapter 207 from the City Code - Staff explained that an <br />ordinance removing Chapter 207 from the City Code has been drafted and will be added <br />the October 27th agenda. <br />A resolution establishing a Human Resources Policy will also be presented for Council <br />Consideration. <br />
