• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 9, 1997 <br />After further discussion, it was decided to ask staff to determine who should attend the <br />meetings and the seating arrangements. <br />DISCUSSION OF LETTER FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, CHIEF PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia explained that recently a program was adopted by the that requires <br />that local police departments to provide local police officers for this detail. The Lino <br />Lakes police officers would be under the direction of the Anoka Sheriff's department. It <br />means that the City would be paying overtime and all their expenses. The Federal Courts <br />have placed an injunction on the program while they study the issue. <br />Council expressed concern for the safety of the Lino Lakes police officers and liability <br />issues.
