• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 21, 1997 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE May 21, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED 5:30 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED 8:00 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden <br />and Neal, Mayor Landers <br />MEMBERS ABSENT None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; City Engineer, David <br />Ahrens; Chief of Police, David Pecchia; Police Department Office Manager; Renee <br />Kaulfuss; Finance Director, Mary Vaske; Solid Waste Coordinator, Jackie Constant; <br />Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; Planning Coordinator, Mary Kay <br />Wyland and Clerk- Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />Consent Agenda, 1E, Consideration of Extension of Residential ' License <br />Period - Ms. Constant explained that the current solid waste 's will expire <br />on June 30th. The Council has adopted a new solid waste °.�- nse periods <br />beginning on January 1, 1998. This agenda item wou nt license period <br />to December 31, 1997. Ms. Constant also note . r� e a' e receiving a petition <br />against the new ordinance. <br />CONSIDERATION OF END <br />COMPANY MARY VA <br />Several employe <br />Assurance Comp <br />benefits during a <br />disability benefits, <br />N FAMILY LIFE ASSURANCE <br />ase disability policy from American Family Life <br />paying the entire cost of this benefit. The policy provides <br />disability period. Since the City does not provide long -term <br />e employees have asked that they be able to pay the premium <br />through payroll deductions. The City Council has not formally acted to approve the <br />payment of the premiums through payroll deduction. Item 1C has been added to the <br />regular agenda, endorsing American Family Life Assurance Company. <br />Council directed Ms. Vaske and Mr. Tesch to make a list of employee benefits available <br />to the employees and make a recommendation for employee benefits at a later Council <br />work session. <br />DRAFT 1998 BUDGET SCHEDULE, MARY VASKE <br />Ms. Vaske gave the Council a copy of the draft 1998 Budget schedule and noted that the <br />Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) will be updated at the same time. She asked the Council <br />to give staff their budget requests so that they can be incorporated into the draft 1998 <br />Budget. <br />
