COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 6, 1997 <br />• CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />• <br />• <br />DATE August 6, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED ; 5:00 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED 6:50 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden <br />and Neal, Mayor Landers <br />MEMBERS ABSENT None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; Community <br />Development Director, Brian Wessel; Fire Chief, Milo Bennett and Clerk- Treasurer <br />Marilyn Anderson. <br />MUNICIPAL FACILITIES UPDATE <br />The Leonard Parker Associates firm has prepared a preliminary con . for the <br />Village. Approval of the preliminary concept plan will be on t t• agenda. <br />What actually is built is a decision that will be made later. dated on this <br />matter at every work session. <br />Staff explained construction of the Police <br />Childhood building must be complet <br />of these two (2) buildings will <br />ED VAUGHAN UP <br />it : in in early 1998. Further information on this matter will be given to Council in September. <br />Staff explained that Metropolitan Council has changed their rules governing the interim <br />MUSA bank. The changes affect where the MUSA can be used and the definition of net <br />acres. At this time, the City has approximately 97 MUSA acres available and Mr. <br />Vaughan is going to need some of this acreage. <br />LINDA CROHN, AENON PLACE, DISCUSS JUVENILE PROBLEM IN LINO <br />LAKES <br />Ms. Crohn noted her concerns regarding juvenile misconduct and asked the Council to <br />consider building a holding cell for juveniles . She explained that these children know <br />they can do whatever they want and not even their parents can do anything about it. <br />
