For any project that requires a Tree Preservation Plan, the City will make a <br />determination that the Tree Preservation Plan is acceptable prior to issuance of any <br />permits. <br />C. Relationship to Other Ordinances: The requirements of this ordinance are separate <br />from the City's Shade Tree Ordinance and Aboriculture Specifications and Standards <br />of Practice. Required replacement tree plantings may be used to satisfy other <br />landscaping requirements on private property, as defined elsewhere in the City <br />Zoning Code, however, they cannot be used to fulfill boulevard street tree planting <br />requirements. <br />IV. TREE PRESERVATION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Plan Submission Requirements (Individual Single Family Lots): Applicant's for <br />building permits on single family lots shall submit the following information in <br />addition to plans required for a building permit: <br />1. A certificate of survey that accurately identifies the location and types of all <br />existing significant trees and woodlands to be removed and those to be preserved <br />on the lot. The drawing shall illustrate where protection devices will be placed <br />and areas to be used for material and equipment storage. <br />2. A description of the measures to be used to protect the trees and woodlands to be <br />preserved on the property. These measures shall be consistent with the <br />measures outlined in Section IV.B.3. unless otherwise approved by the City. <br />B. Plan Submission Requirements (General Development): For applications outlined <br />in Section III.A.2., a Tree Preservation Plan shall include the following components. <br />However, the City can use its discretion to waive submittal of some of this <br />information, or to require additional information, if appropriate to the specific <br />situation. <br />1. Tree Inventory: A tree inventory shall be prepared by a landscape architect, forester <br />or certified registered land surveyor knowledgeable in identification of tree species <br />and shall include: <br />a) The names), telephone number(s), and address(s) of applicants, property owners, <br />developers and/or builders. <br />b) The size, species, condition and location of all existing significant trees and <br />significant woodlands on the property. <br />c) The estimated size, species, condition and location of significant trees and <br />significant woodlands within one hundred (100) feet of the property boundary. <br />d) Table summarizing the size, species, condition, and number of existing significant <br />trees and significant woodlands on the property. Table should list plants <br />individually and provide summary of total caliper inches. <br />5 <br />
