Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) <br />❑ Purpose— Does the plan contain a clear purpose and identify the management <br />goals near the beginning of the document? <br />❑ Authority/Responsibility— For lands under the jurisdiction of the plan, does <br />the document identify under what authority (e.g., city policy, ordinance, etc.) <br />the LUG has the responsibility for management, and what department is <br />responsible for overseeing the management (e.g., Parks and Recreation, <br />Forestry, etc.)? <br />❑ Summary— Does the plan contain a summary (two pages or less) identifying <br />management goals, general strategies and tools to be used, partners, etc.? <br />❑ Property report— Does the plan contain a property report? <br />❑ Legal description or map is included of lands subject to the plan. <br />❑ e.g., Current land uses are described. <br />❑ e.g., Ownership is documented. <br />❑ Resource inventory— Have the current natural features been assessed <br />comprehensively as appropriate to the situation? Are clear maps presented for <br />these features? <br />❑ e.g., significant landforms <br />❑ e.g., bedrock and surficial geology <br />❑ e.g., soil types <br />❑ e.g., hydrology & water quality /character <br />❑ e.g., land cover has been described using the Minnesota Land Cover <br />Classification System <br />❑ e.g., natural communities (using Minnesota County Biological Survey <br />(MCBS) data, additional survey data, and MCBS terminology) <br />❑ e.g., rare species occurrences <br />❑ e.g., other native plant and animal species <br />❑ Historical context— Has the historical context of the project been provided? <br />❑ e.g., Have literature searches and/or personal interviews been conducted <br />to assemble information on the site's natural history? <br />❑ e.g., Have presettlement surveys, pollen studies, historical photos and/or <br />other available resources been used to understand the distribution of <br />historical natural communities and disturbance patterns across the site? <br />❑ e.g., Has the site's land use history been documented? <br />
