From: <br />To: <br />Peggy Sand <br />Date: 5/5/00 10:39AM <br />Subject: WUI LUG minutes & assignments <br />This very long memo is being sent directly to everyone who is on my list as a WUI LUG project work group <br />member AND is CC'd to everyone on the list as a "consultant" to the project, plus a couple other <br />managers. <br />This memo contains. attachments & instructions which need your attention before the next WUI LUG work <br />group meeting on Thursday, May 25, 1-3:30 pm. 1 strongly suggest you import each attachment into Word <br />Perfect (or the equivalent) before you try opening or printing it. If any of you have any problems with any <br />of these attachments let me or Peggy Gabriel know & we can get you a hard copy. <br />1. Work Group Member /Consultant List <br />This attachment (LUG wkgl .wpd) is a 3 -page table of this list of people, please check it to make sure <br />your #s etc are correct. Also. please let me know ASAP if anv names should be changed or added. <br />Currently, everyone except Marty Asieson is accessible by e- mail. <br />• 2. Work Assignment Matrix <br />This attachment (LUQ work_matrix.wpd) is the 1 -page table we worked on at the last meeting with all the <br />names people filled in. A few folks (Suzann, Sharon, Bart, &Rick D from Lino) are listed in [brackets] <br />because their names were suggested at the last meeting, but they were not there. Please note, I am still <br />looking for volunteers to be the point people where no names exist on the matrix. Each of you should be <br />working this morith on your assigned areas as reflected on this matrix and the "Primary Activities & <br />Products of the Proiect/Schedule" (sent out by e-mail on 4/19 & handed out at the 4/20 meeting). Please <br />let me know ASAP if 1 have you listed correctly on the matrix or if you have anv questions about what your <br />duties are. <br />• <br />3. Natural Resource Documents List <br />Thanks to Meredith who has developed a format & made an excellent start at a list of documents which <br />provide useful sample language and ideas for local units developing policies, reg's, plans, etc. Meredith <br />has it organized into 6 categories of documents: <br />* comprehensive plans/policies <br />* native landscaping ordinances ... <br />* sustainable development ordinances <br />* landscaping ordinances <br />* management plans <br />* natural resource inventories <br />We are open to adding new categories as needed. So far, Meredith has put in the table information on <br />'about 18 documents including: the reference's biographical citation; the location for which it was <br />developed (typically a city); a contact person, organization, and phone number, and a comments section <br />which describes what the document includes that is particularly useful related to natural resource <br />management <br />This third attachment (NR doc examples.wpd) is a table that so far is about 5 pages.long. Each of you <br />are requested to find additional documents we should add to the list and provide (either electronically or <br />hard copv) complete information on each additional document to Peggy Gabriel who will update etc this <br />table. Contact Meredith if you have any questions or suggestions on the format, categories, etc. <br />4. Land Cover Mapping - Ecological Quality Modifiers <br />As requested by the LUG work group, Meredith has developed some suggested language for natural <br />community ecological quality ratings to be used in the Mn Land Cover Classification System (MLCCS) <br />
