ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING AUGUST 30, 2000 <br />D. Other Business — Clearwater Creek - Donlin asked if Clearwater Creek is looking like <br />a conservation development, or the standard gridwork. Asleson stated Mike Quigley was <br />posting the buffer area signs and reviewed how a wetland has been restored and water <br />levels are coming back up. <br />Donlin asked if the original vision is being accomplished. Asleson stated while the <br />streets are more narrow and houses are located closer together, there is open area behind <br />with trails to be installed. He stated people are interested in this area and the houses are <br />selling. Asleson suggested that some education will also help. <br />Donlin asked if the drive approach contains native landscaping. Asleson stated it does <br />not, but that would be a good idea which he will suggest to Quigley. He noted this is a <br />phased development and as the native prairie matures it will be very attractive. Asleson <br />suggested a field trip to this area prior to the next meeting or on a Saturday. <br />Consensus was reached to schedule a field trip to Clearwater Creek at 5:30 p.m. on <br />September 27, 2000. <br />PROGRAM / PROJECT UPDATES <br />A. Restoration Updates — Already discussed. <br />Litter Ordinance — Asleson commented <br />ordinance to regulate littering. She asked if it could be included, in whole, and attached as part of <br />the file. Asleson requested a copy of the letter. <br />5 <br />
