STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />DATE: 4/25/01 <br />TOPIC: 64th and 20th <br />AGENDA ITEM 5F <br />Marty Asleson <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Applicant has submitted an application request to obtain a variance of setback due to <br />hardship, i.e., wetland issues. The are is in a Lake Protection area, not in a flood plane <br />area, in an ecological zone 2. Maps enclosed. Ecological classification lists this site <br />with residential and recently developed forest in degraded condition. Applicant will need <br />a permit from Rice Creek Watershed District. <br />Approval should include some plan to contain water on the site. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Recommend Approval with suggestions of the Environmental Board and Rice Creek <br />Watershed District permit (mitigation would be required) <br />2. Recommend not to approve to the City Council <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option one if the applicant can be creative in surface water retention issues or provide <br />significant surface water management plan and approved by the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District. <br />
