or public property, and to make such recommendations from <br />time to time to the Municipal Council as to desirable <br />legislation concerning the tree program and activities for <br />the municipality. <br />To provide regular and special meetings at which the subject <br />of trees insofar as it relates to the municipality may be <br />discussed by the members of the City Tree Board officers and <br />personnel of the municipality and its several divisions, and <br />all others interested in the City Tree Program. <br />1007.7 OPERATION <br />The Board shall choose its own officers, make its own rules <br />and regulations and keep a journal of its proceedings. A <br />majority of the members shall be a quorum for the transaction <br />of business. <br />1007.8 APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />FORESTER <br />The Municipal Forester shall be appointed by the City <br />Council, Municipality of Lino Lakes, County of Anoka, State <br />of Minnesota. Upon satisfactory completion of a six (6) <br />months probationary period the forester shall be appointed as <br />lone as he /she satisfactorily performs the duties of his <br />office. The forester shall be skilled and trained in the <br />arts and sciences of municipal arboriculture, and shall hold <br />a college degree or its equivalent in arboriculture, <br />ornamental or landscape horticulture, urban forestry, or <br />other closely related field. <br />1007.9 SALARY <br />The Municipal Forester shall receive a salary commensurate <br />with his training and experience as full compensation for all <br />services rendered and in lieu of all fees. <br />1007.10 DUTIES <br />The Municipal Forester shall have the authority to promulgate <br />the rules and regulations of the Arboricultural <br />Specifications and Standards of Practice governing the <br />planting, maintenance, removal, protection, fertilization, <br />pruning, and bracing of trees on the streets or other public <br />sites in the municipality, and shall direct, regulate, and <br />control the planting, maintenance, and removal of all trees <br />growing now or hereafter in any public area of the <br />Municipality of Lino Lakes, County of Anoka, State of <br />Minnesota. He /she shall cause the provision of this <br />Ordinance to be enforced. In his absence these duties shall <br />be the responsibility of the Assistant Forester designated by <br />the municipality. <br />Page 3 <br />
