The disposal of any solid or liquid wastes shall be controlled as necessary to <br />ensure that the . underground waters of the watershed are maintained within the <br />range of natural background quality. <br />6. Erosion and Sediment Control <br />a. The VLAWMO shall require as a management strategy, in identified critical <br />erosion areas (see Technical Appendix, Figure A -7), the submission and <br />implementation- of erosion and sediment control plans to the local government <br />unit for the prevention of erosion from land disturbance activities of one acre or <br />more in size. <br />b. For those land disturbance activities involving critical erosion areas identified in <br />Technical Appendix, Figure A -7, which comprises less than one acres and a <br />determination has been made by the VLAWMO of significant impact on a <br />receiving water, the VLAWMO shall require submission and implementation of <br />erosion and sediment control plans to the local government unit. <br />c. The VLAWMO shall require, in non - critical areas, the submission and <br />implementation of erosion control plans to the local government unit for the <br />prevention of erosion from land disturbance activities involving areas greater than <br />two and one -half (2.5) acres. <br />d. All erosion and sediment control plans submitted for applicable land disturbance <br />activities shall conform with the standards and principles established by the <br />VLAWMO. <br />e. All local government units within the VLAWMO shall adopt erosion and <br />sediment control policies and /or ordinances in conformance with VLAWMO <br />management strategies. <br />7. Flooding <br />a. The VLAWMO in cooperation with local communities and involved agencies will <br />manage for the 100 -year flood level on designated Group I water and wetlands, <br />all Group II waters and wetlands and designated Group III wetlands. <br />b. The VLAWMO shall establish regional (100 -year) flood levels and /or required <br />storage volumes based upon critical storm events on most Group I and II waters <br />and wetlands. <br />Local Water Management Plan SEH No. A- LINOL9402.00 <br />Reference Document Page F - 5 <br />
