CITY OF <br />-� <br />L11' LAKES <br />a <br />a <br />10/24/94 - <br />Goals and Policies <br />Water Quantity <br />Control flooding and minimize public capital expenditures. <br />Policy L1: Natural storm water storage areas and manmade <br />detention areas should be utilized to control flood- <br />Policy 1.2: The acceptable or allowable storage capacity of the <br />existing drainage system shall be optimized. <br />Policy 1.3: Regional detention areas, as opposed to individual <br />on -site detention, shall be used whenever practical <br />as indicated in this plan. <br />Policy 1.4: All hydrologic studies shall be based on ultimate or <br />anticipated development of the entire tributary <br />drainage area. <br />Policy L5: Major storm water facilities shall be designed using <br />a return period of 100 years. <br />Policy 1.6: All minor drainage system analyses and design <br />shall be based on a return period of 10 years unless <br />otherwise specified. <br />Policy L7 Detention facility design_shall include access for <br />maintenance of the outlet structure and to the <br />facility in general. <br />Policy 1.8: The design of storm water facilities shall consider <br />and identify location(s) of overflow(s) that prevent <br />property damage from extreme water levels. <br />Policy 1.9: Minimum building elevations shall be above estab- <br />lished flood levels. <br />Local Water Management Plan SEH NO: LINOL9402.00 <br />Policy Document Page 11 <br />
