ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING
AUGUST 29, 2001
The Board discussed the placement of the road and the possibility of shifting it north to
save the trees. Shifting the road would encroach on the wetland, which was on a
floodplain.
O'Connell asked if an association was planned. Mr. Hill responded that there was none
planned, just signage.
Asleson stated that signage was being used successfully in other developments including
Spirit Hills. Chair Lanyon expressed concern over the wetlands and the actions of
subsequent homeowners.
Trehus noted the plan was to develop 80 acres in the southern part. Mr. Hill indicated
that 17 units would be built on that 80 acres.
Asleson stated with the plant diversity, the wildlife would return. He noted the past
recommendations included native plantings and signage in buffer areas.
0' Connell made a motion to recommend approval with the previous recommendations.
Grundhofer seconded the motion. Grochala explained that the site had two zoning
designations, General Industrial, and Light Industrial in the north which has been used for
storage in the past. Recently there have been violations in regards to hours of operation,
and doing some work in the Light Industrial area. The promises unmet dealt with the
Conditional Use Permit.
Trehus suggested connecting 77th Street.
Asleson noted that there were two wells on site which should be capped if they were
abandoned.
6
