• <br />RESOLUTION TO ADOPT MINOR AMENDMENTS <br />TO THE WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the Rice Creek Watershed District (District) has proposed minor amendments to <br />its Watershed Management Plan (Plan); <br />WHEREAS, the proposed minor amendments have been forwarded to all required agencies, <br />including the Metropolitan Council, Department of Health, Department of Natural Resources, Pollution <br />Control Agency, Board of Water and Soil Resources, and local units of government for their review and <br />comment; ' <br />WHEREAS, the District has held a public hearing on the proposed minor amendments and has <br />reviewed all comments received regarding them; <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Water and Soil Resources on May 11, 1994, approved the proposed <br />minor amendments. The Board of Water and Soil Resources found "[t]he amendments are thorough <br />and well - thought out," and the District's responses to the comments it received from the governmental <br />units and agencies which reviewed them acceptable; <br />WHEREAS, such proposed amendments are minor in nature; <br />WHEREAS, the vast majority of the Plan is unchanged, and the District has refrained from full - <br />scale rewriting in this amendment process to minimize the extent of changes; <br />WHEREAS, there currently is pending litigation which may affect the outcome of the Locke <br />Lake project described in Section 7 of the Plan; because of the uncertainty of the outcome of this <br />litigation, the District should not at this time adopt any proposed minor amendments to Section 7 of <br />the Plan; <br />WHEREAS, the proposed minor amendments do not amend or affect the section of the Plan's <br />Capital Improvement Program regarding the Locke Lake capital improvement project; <br />WHEREAS, adoption of the proposed minor amendments does not constitute a readoption of <br />the Plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Rice Creek Watershed District Board of <br />Managers adopts all of the proposed minor amendments to its Plan as approved by the Board of Water <br />and Soil Resources, except for those proposed minor amendments to Section 7 of the Plan dealing with <br />Locke Lake. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED Y <br />BOARD OF MANAGERS. �m.G�'z Af, /9�% BY THE RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT <br />ATTEST: <br />Secretary ; j <br />• <br />
