ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING <br />OCTOBER 30, 2002 <br />impervious on a property. The Lighting Ordinance was discussed. The next <br />meeting will be on the Planning and Development Ordinance. <br />C. Heron Rookery, Peltier Lake <br />Mr. Wayne LeBlanc indicated that two letters had been sent to the City stating <br />that the no wake zone was not working. He showed in pictures how the coontail <br />had become detached specifically where the ski course was located. He <br />concluded that a 2000 foot by 200 foot strip had been disturbed. He was in favor <br />of maintaining the no wake zone in hopes that the disturbed coontail that was <br />disturbed would reestablish itself. <br />Asleson stated that he had written a protocol and a request to the University of <br />Minnesota for a graduate student to help with observations, information <br />development, and to print up testimonials. <br />D. 2003 Meeting Dates <br />This item was not addressed in the meeting, although the dates were distributed in <br />the information packet. <br />E. Watchable Wildlife Conference <br />Grundhofer stated that the conference addressed the desire to not develop land, <br />but to begin a Wildlife Tourism on the land. The speakers addressed the <br />identification and listing of the species and sites, and beginning festivals for the <br />purposes of conservation. <br />. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A.
