Agenda Item 5B
Environmental Board Meeting Date: January 21, 2004
Topic:
Background:
Legacy Holdings /Lino Lakes Village
Planned Unit Development
Application Review
The City of Lino Lakes Environmental Board held a review of Legacy Holdings,
Lino Lakes Village PUD application on December 3, 2003. The purpose of this
review was to obtain Environmental Board comments on the submitted
application information. There was no formal action taken at that time. Please
see Attachment 1 concerning the review on December 3, and the minutes of that
meeting (Attachment 2). Comprehensive planning issues are discussed in
Michael Grochala's Staff Report dated December 10, 2003 (Attachment 3), and
the Hartford Group letter from Michael Grochala dated January 5, 2004
(Attachment 4).
Analysis:
Summary reports attached restate the issues of previous review. In addition:
• The Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) now waits council
decision.
• Open space areas such as the designated park can offer opportunities for
entertainment events, farmers market and seasonal sales such as Christmas
trees and pumpkins.
• It appears tree losses have been minimized as much as possible.
• Landscaping:
• All tree - planting areas should have planting holes prepared as per
illustration.
•
