Agenda Item 5E
Environmental Board Meeting Date: October 27, 2004
Topic: Friends of the Mississippi River Storm Water Management Ordinance
Review
Background: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director received an
inquiry from the Friends of the Mississippi River about our interest in pursuing an
ordinance review of our storm water ordinances. The purpose of this review is to
enable language in our ordinances that would be compatible with the Rice Creek
Watershed District's Comprehensive Wetland Management Planning (CWMP) in
the City of Lino Lakes. Dollars would be made available through the Rice Creek
Watershed's; application to the PCA. Friends of the Mississippi River would
facilitate the research of our ordinances with their research consultant, Shabana
Hameed, formally of Bonestroo and Associates.
Analysis: Michael will be present at the meeting to discuss this issue. We
would like a recommendation from the Environmental Board to proceed.
Options:
1. Recommend moving forward with Ordinance Review
2. Other recommendations of the Environmental Board.
Recommendation:
Option 1
