The proposed residential use of the site, however, is not anticipated to generate
wastes or chemicals that have the potential of contaminating the groundwater. The type of spill that could be
somewhat more likely would be a spill from equipment fueling during construction. This soil, if contaminated, will
be transported to a licensed hazardous waste reclamation facility.
olid wastes
Des
, hazardous wastes, storage tanks
cribe types, amounts and compositions of solid or hazardous wastes
ash, produced during construction and operation. The development is not
expected to generate hazardous wastes. The solid waste will be collected by private haulers and disposed in
landfills. The landfills have sufficient remaining capacity to receive solid waste from this project. Recycling
services, which are required by the City, are provided by private solid waste haulers in the area.
b. These and other toxic and hazardous materials will be removed
from the site in a safe manner. Soil in the area of such materials, if significantly contaminated, will be removed and
disposed of properly. Small spills from equipment fueling may occur during construction.
Hydraulic oil could be discharged onto the ground if a hydraulic hose on a piece of construction equipment would
fail. Equipment will be parked in designated areas during non -work hours. These areas will also be used for fueling
and servicing, and will be in upland locations, away from wetlands. Impoundment dikes will be constructed to
contain fuels if a spill should occur. Soil, if significantly contaminated, will be removed from the site and taken to a
licensed hazardous waste reclamation facility.
