The solid waste will be collected by private haulers and disposed in landfills. The landfills have sufficient remaining capacity to receive solid waste from this project. Small spills from equipment fueling may occur during construction. Hydraulic oil could be discharged onto the ground if a hydraulic hose on a piece of construction equipment would fail. Equipment will be parked in designated areas during non -work hours. These areas will also be used for fueling and servicing, and will be in upland locations, away from wetlands. Impoundment dikes will be constructed to contain fuels if a spill should occur. Soil, if significantly contaminated, will be removed from the site and taken to a licensed hazardous waste reclamation facility.
