STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION NOTES <br />NOTE THE FOLLOWNG MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY (MPCA) REQUIREMENTS ARE INTEGRAL TO THE APPLICATION FOR GENERAL <br />STORM WATER PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY (MNR100001). OVERSEE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SWPPP. <br />2. OVERSEE THE INSTALLATION, INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE DF EROSION PREVENTION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL BMP'S BEFORE AND <br />DURING CONSTRUCTION. <br />SUBCONTRACTORS <br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF ALL SUBCONTRACTORS WORKING ON THIS PROJECT WHO WILL BE INVOLVED <br />WITH THE MAJOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES THAT DISTURB SOIL THAT INFORMATION MUST BE KEPT WITH THIS SWPPP. <br />ERDSION CONTROL PREVENTION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES <br />1. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MUST BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF GRADING OPERATIONS AND BE MAINTAINED UNTIL <br />ALL DISTURBED AREAS ON THE SITE HAVE BEEN RESTORED. <br />2. CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES SHALL BE SURFACED MATH CRUSHED ROCK AND DESIGNATED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION (REFER TO DETAIL). <br />i SPECIAL ATTENTION SHALL BE PAID TO STORM WATER DISCHARGE POINTS. THESE LOCATIONS SHALL BE MONITORED DURING REQUIRED <br />INPSECTIONS. W ANY SEDIMENT HAS BEEN DISCHARGED FROM THE SITE, IT SHALL BE REMOVED AND THE AREA SHALL BE RESTORED. <br />TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AT DISCHARGE POINTS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL FINAL STABILIZATION OF UPSTREAM AREAS <br />HAS BEEN ACHIEVED. <br />4. ALL EXPOSED SOIL AREAS WITHIN 200 LINEAL FEET OF SURFACE WATER MUST HAVE TEMPORARY PROTECTION OR PERMANENT COVER: <br />TYPE OF SLOPE TIME (MAX TIME AN AREA CAN REMAIN OPEN WHEN AREA IS NOT ACTIVELY BEING WORKED) <br />STEEPER THAN 3:1 7 DAYS <br />10:1 TO 3:1 14 DAYS <br />FLATTER THAN 10:1 21 DAYS <br />5. PIPE OUTLETS MUST CONTAIN RIP RAP WITHIN 24 HOURS OF CONNECTION TO A SURFACE WATER. <br />6. STOCKPILE AREAS TO BE ENCIRCLED WITH SILT FENCE <br />7. ALL SLOPES 3:1 DR STEEPER, NOT TO BE SODDED AND GREATER THAN 8 FEET IN HEIGHT, SHALL HAVE EROSION CONTROL FABRIC <br />INSTALLED ON SLOPE PER MNDOT SPEC. 3885. VERIFY RESTORATION METHOD AND SEEDING MIXTURE. <br />8. TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL TO BE PLACED AROUND STORM SEWER STRUCTURES DURING CONSTRUCTION (REFER TO DETAIL). <br />9. SEDIMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM ALL SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES AS NECESSARY AND MUST BE REMOVED IF DESIGN CAPACITY <br />HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 505. <br />10. SEDIMENT TRACKED OFF -SITE, AS A RESULT OF CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC, SHALL HE MINIMIZED AND SWEPT ON A DAILY BASIS. <br />11. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE RESTORED WITH SOD. SEED, WOOD FIBER BLANKET, OR PAVED SURFACE WITHIN 14 DAYS OF ROUGH <br />GRADING <br />12. A COMPLETED STORM WATER PERMIT SHALL BE POSTMARKED AT LEAST 7 DAYS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF GRADING ACTIVITIES. <br />13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FILE MPCA NOTICE OF TERMINATION AT COMPLETION OF SUBSTANTIAL TURF ESTABLISHMENT. <br />SEOUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION <br />1. OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS, INCLUDING NPDES GENERAL STORMWATER PERMIT. <br />2. INSTALL ALL PERIMETER SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES, TEMPORARY SEDIMENTATION BASINS AND ROCK CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES. <br />3. CLEAR AND GRUB SITE. <br />4. CONTACT CITY/TOWNSHIP INSPECTOR FOR APPROVAL OF ALL SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES. <br />5. ROUGH GRADE <br />6. INSTALL TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AS NECESSARY. <br />7. STABILIZE DENUDED AREAS AND STOCKPILES WITHIN 14 DAYS OF LAST CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IN THAT AREA. <br />B. INSTALL SITE IMPROVEMENTS (LE UTILITIES, STREETS, ETC.). <br />9. COMPLETE GRADING AND INSTALL PERMANENT SEEDINGS AND PLANTINGS. <br />10. ONCE ALL DISTURBED AREAS HAVE BEEN STABILIZED OBTAIN APPROVAL OF CITY/TOWANSHIP INSPECTOR. <br />11. CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AFTER ACCEPTANCE BY THE CITY/ TOWNSHIP. <br />DEWATERING AND BASIN DRAINAGE <br />PERMITTEE MUST ENSURE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES THAT INVOLVE DEWATERING AND /OR BASIN DRAINING ARE ADEQUATELY PROTECTED <br />FROM ERDSION AND SCOUR THE DISCHARGE MUST BE DISPERSED OVER RIP RAP, SANDBAGS, PLASTIC SHEETING. OR OTHER ACCEPTABLE <br />DISSIPATION MEASURES. DEWATERING DISCHARGE SHALL BE FREE OF TURBIDITY. <br />ALLOWABLE NON -STORM DISCHARGES <br />ALL NON -STORM WATER DISCHARGES SHALL BE DIRECTED TO A SEDIMENT BASIN PRIOR TO DISCHARGE. AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATE <br />9. SPRINGS AND UNCONTAMINATED WATER <br />10. FOUNDATION OR FOOTIN DRAINS WHERE FLOWS ARE NOT CONTAMINATED WITH PROCESS MATERIALS SUCH AS SOLVENTS <br />11. DEWATERING OR BASIN DRAINING ACTIVITIES <br />INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE <br />1. THE PERMITTEE (OWNER OR OPERATOR) MUST INSPECT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE ONCE EVERY 7 DAYS DURING ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION <br />AND WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER A RAINFALL EVENT GREATER THAN 0.5 INCHES IN 24 HOURS. <br />2. INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE TO BE RECORDED IN WRITING. <br />POO UTION PREVENTION MANAGEMENT <br />1. THE PERMITTEE SHALL IMPLEMENT THE FOLLOWING POLLUTION PREVENTION MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON THE SITE <br />2. SOLID WASTE SEDIMENT, ASPHALT AND CONCRETE MILLINGS, FLOATING DEBRIS, PAPER, PLASTIC, FABRIC, CONSTRUCTION AND <br />DEMOLITION DEBRIS AND OTHER WASTES MUST BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY AND MUST COMPLY WITH MPCA DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS. <br />i HAZARDOUS MATERIALS OIL GASOLINE, PAINT, AND ANY HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES MUST BE PROPERLY STORED, INCLUDING <br />SECONDARY CONTAINMENT, TO PREVENT SPILLS, LEAKS, OR OTHER DISCHARGE. RESTRICTED ACCESS TO STORAGE AREAS MUST BE <br />PROVIDED TO PREVENT VANDALISM. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS WASTE MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE WATH MPCA REGULATIONS. <br />4. EXTERNAL WASHING OF TRUCKS AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES MUST BE LIMITED TO A DEFINED AREA OF THE SITE. RUNOFF <br />MUST BE CONTAINED AND WASTE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF.
