AGENDA ITEM 4E <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine <br />DATE: 1/25/99 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Joint Powers Agreement with <br />Wayzata School District for Trooper Chairs (3/5 vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As part of the city's procurement of office furniture for the Civic Complex, city <br />employees tried a variety of oft chairs and selected a particular brand called <br />an AI!steel Trooper. This office chair is available to the city through a contract <br />that has already gone out to bid and was entered into with the manufacturer by <br />the Wayzata School. District, The school district, as the initiating party in this <br />contract, can allow other public entities to participate in the quote in exchange <br />for a deeper discount. This joint powers agreement allows us to access their <br />contract so that the city can purchase the chair at a very good price. It does not <br />obligate the city to purchase the chairs, but it does guarantee that the city can <br />purchase the chairs at the guaranteed discount for the life of the contract. <br />OPTION <br />1.
