A. Rick DeGardner gave a brief outline of the Anoka County Parks
meeting held on Wednesday, January 20th at Wargo Nature Center.
County officials outlined plans for use of a 1.6 million dollar grant for
the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park. A concept plan is being
developed and will be ready for review in late March. Park
improvements should be substantially completed by the fall of 2000.
This is a passive park which means that only 20% of the park will be
developed for recreational use. Rick also noted that the Public
Services Department is preparing a grant application for trails.
