AGENDA ITEM 54 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR David J Pecchia, Chief of Police <br />DATE February 17, 1999 <br />TOPIC Conditional Job Offer - Steve Bikkie for <br />Full -time Licensed Police Officer <br />BACKGROUND <br />In September 1998, Steve Bikkie was hired as a part - time <br />Community Service Officer. As part of the department's CSO <br />program, we look for college students who are attending <br />school to become a full time police officer. Steve Bikkie <br />fit this criteria and is eligible to become a full time <br />police officer. <br />Steve recently graduated from North Hennepin Community <br />College with an A.S Degree in Law Enforcement. He has <br />experience in the private sector as a security officer, <br />served as a police explorer for the Circle Pinee /Lexington <br />Police Department and has excelled as a Community Service <br />Officer with the Lino Lakes Police Department. Steve will <br />be filling one of our two vacancies. <br />A background investigation has been completed. Steve <br />successfully completed the background investigation, a <br />psychological evaluation and is scheduled for a physical <br />exam this week. <br />It is our recommendation to make a conditional job offer to <br />Steve Bikkie contingent upon a successful medical exam. <br />OPTIONS <br />1.
