AGENDA ITEM 4B
STAFF ORIGINATOR Brian Wessel
DATE: 3/8/99
TOPIC: Resolution No.99 -12 endorsing city participation in
the construction of a YMCA in The Village
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority
BACKGROUND:
This resolution provides $1.5 million in financial support from the City of Lino
Lakes for the construction of the YMCA. It also endorses the use of city owned
land in the Village and the provision of infrastructure for the project. Providing
this commitment enables the YMCA to move forward in securing its own
financing and commitments from other entities. The city's participation also
provides an impetus for continued fundraising within the community.
The city's commitment to the project is based on the YMCA and the city reaching
satisfactory agreement on the terms of the city's participation and its benefit to
Lino Lakes residents. It is also contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all
financial details.
1. Adopt Resolution No. 99-12 endorsing financial support for the construction of
the YMCA in Lino Lakes.
2, Retum to staff for further consideration
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1
