AGENDA ITEM NO 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />DATE: March 1, 1999 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Circle Pines Park Property Lease <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Staff has been working with the City of Circle Pines in providing recreational opportunities for <br />residents in the Rice Lake Estates Development. <br />Specifically, the proposed lease allows the City of Lino Lakes to construct a playground area and <br />a half court basketball court immediately behind the wellhouse on Sandhill Drive. The trail will <br />pen nit residents easy access to Baldwin Park which consists of a baseball field, playground <br />equipment, and a hockey rink. <br />The term of the lease is for a period of 25 years with the City of Lino Lakes having the option to <br />extend the term of the lease for an additional 15 years. The cost of this agreement is $1 per year <br />The City of Lino Lakes will be responsible for the improvements and maintenance of this area. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to enter into the park property lease, <br />2.
