AGENDA ITEM 6M
STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer
DATE: April 20, 1999
TOPIC: Resolution 99 -30, Municipal State Aid Road Designations
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
Cities that qualify for participation in the Municipal State Aid System (MSAS) are
allowed to designate roadways to the system based on the amount of improved
roadways within the City. Each year cities are allowed to revise their MSAS by
adding or revoking MSAS mileage. Council approval of the additions to the
MSAS is required prior to State Aid recognizing them.
The proposed revision to the Lino Lakes Municipal State Aid System is as
follows:
Revoke the non- existing I -35W south frontage road, designated as segment 101,
from Elm Street to Lake Drive. The length of this segment is 1.08 miles. With
the construction of the Centennial School improvements, the construction of a
roadway along the alignment as shown on the MSAS map is unlikely.
Add Fourth Avenue between Main Street and Pine Street. This proposed
segment length is .98 miles.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution No. 99 -30 with revisions.
3. Adopt Resolution No. 99 -30.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution No. 99 -30.
