AGENDA ITEM 3B
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dan Tesch
DATE: 5/18/99
TOPIC: Consideration of an application for a Block Party,
Glen Circle
BACKGROUND:
A block party is planned for Glen Circle June 12, 1999 starting at 5:00 p.m. and
ending at 10 :00 p.m. The attached map shows the location of the party and the
property owner shown with slant marks have signed the petition acknowledging
they were notified of the party.
Both the Police Department and the Public Works Streets Department have been
given information on the party. Public Works will provide barricades for blocking
the cul-de -sac and the Police Officer assigned to this precinct will probably visit
the party.
In the past, the City Council has encouraged these parties as it presents an
opportunity for neighbors to get acquainted with one another. These parties also
create the opportunity to form a neighborhood crime watch unit.
OPTIONS:
1. Adopt a motion approving the block party..
2. Return to staff for further information.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 1
