AGENDA ITEM 3E
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dan Tesch
DATE: 6/8/99
TOPIC: Consideration of an Application for a Block Party, Green
Briar & Antelope Drive
BACKGROUND:
A block party is planned for Green Briar and Antelope Drive June 19, 1999 starting at
2:00 p.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. The attached map shows the location of the party and
the property owners shown with slant marks have signed the petition acknowledging
notification of the party.
Both the Police Department and the Public Works Streets Department have been given
information on the party: Public Works will provide barricades for blocking the cul-de-
sac and, as you can see by the attached flyer, the Police Officer assigned to this precinct
will visit the party.
In the past, the City Council has encouraged these parties as it presents an opportunity for
neighbors to get acquainted with one another. These parties also create the opportunity to
form a neighborhood crime watch unit.
OPTIONS:
1. Adopt a motion approving the block party.
2. Return to staff for further information.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 1
