AGENDA ITEM NO. 3B
STAFF ORIGINATOR Marilyn Anderson, City Clerk
DATE June 23, 1999
TOPIC Consideration of an Application for
Block Party, Palomino Lane
VOTES REQUIRED 3 /5ths
BACKGROUND
A block party is planned on Palomino Lane on July 4th starting at 3:00 p.m. and ending at
10:00 p.m. A parade will also be a feature of this block parry. The parade route is outline
on the attached map.
The attached map also shows the property owners shown with slant marks who have signed the petition
acknowledging they were notified about the party and the parade.
Both the Police Department and the Public Works Department have been given information about the
party. The Public Works Department will provide barricades for blocking the block party site and the
parade route. The Police Officer assigned to this precinct will probably visit the party.
In the past, the City Council has encouraged these parties as it presents an opportunity for neighbors to get
acquainted with one another. These parties also create the opportunity to form a neighborhood crime watch
unit
I am requesting approval of this block party.
OPTIONS:
•
•
1. Adopt a motion approving the block party
2. Return to staff for further information
3. Adopt a motion denying the application
RECOMMENDATIONS
Option No. 1
